ColdFusion 2021 - Offline Activation

Hi Cold Fusion community,

today i've  installed the ColdFusion 2021 (Update 14) and entered the Number Series during.

Due to the fact our server is in a secured network layer we cannot connect to the Adobe licensing server.

So we tried to follow the offline activation process, but the mentioned button "Generate Activation Request" from the Adobe Instruction is not available in the CF Admin portal:

https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/using/coldfusion-licensing-activation.html

Did someone else have/had the same issue and resolved it? Is there another way to get the software activated?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Curt,

Adobe helped us - You need to wait for the timeout in ColdFusion Admin during the activation process. After that we were able to export the offline activation file via "Generate Activation Request".

But I think you have a bit a different issue - You should be able to open the JSON file with an editor and Copy/Paste the data from the secured server to your local PC, even if you are using RDP.

Should also work the way back for the response code in JSON format from your PC back to the server.

If your RDP Clipboard is completly disabled by security reason, i'm also not able to help you.

We have the same issue.  Did you find a solution for Activation on a secure isolated network? Our problem is we can't bring the activation request file out of the secure environment.  There has to be a wokaround!!??

No have no approved way to electronically transfer the JSON response file out of secure network.  We tried manually recreating the JSON file twice but no joy!  THANKS for the reply!!

If you're under the DoD there are approved ways. I've also gotten ways approved that utilze bit for bit analysis of a CD-ROM on a standalone machine in the high information domain and then the low information domain before uploading it to a vendor portal.

However, customer service told us the string wasn't that long so we're going to try and make the json by hand typing the string, or they said we could provide the string to them. The problem is that even after waiting the file generation section never shows. I've even edited the html to have it displayed and it won't work in our environment. It looks like it's using cross-site communication and that's blocked.

today i've  installed the ColdFusion 2021 (Update 14)

Please confirm that "Update 14" is an error.

As far as I am aware, ColdFusion 2021 has, so far, Update 1 and Update 2.

Correct @BKBK it should be either update 1 or 2. Even if run the update for CF2018, it will not install it on CF2021.

Funny thing is, even CF2018 is not yet on Update 14; it's on Update 12.

The issue might seem frivolous, but there is a reason why I raised it: to verify that @Stefan_5847 hasn't installed hacked software.
