I am running Coldfsuion 9,0,1,274733 on Linux 64bit in multi server configuration.... Installed Verity

But when trying to create collections using the web admin UI I get the following message.

Unable to retrieve collections from any of the Search Services.
Please verify that atleast one of ColdFusion Search Services is installed and running.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage; go to Services and Applications and expand it, then click Services.  Check to make sure the ColdFusion Search Server is running.  If it is.. I'm not sure where to go from there.

Ah.. I should have asked, first.  I do not know *nix.. at all.  If you know how to check and see which services are running, do that and look for the ColdFusion Search Server.  If it's not running, do what you need to do to get it running.  If that doesn't fix it, I'm not sure where to go from there.
