Coldfusion will not install on a Windows 2008 Standard server for IIS 7.0 running in VMWare.

At the final step "Configure Web Servers/Websites", it complains that  - "Cannot configure IIS Connector. Enable the required options, ASP.NET, CGI,...".  But, all ASP.NET, CGI, and ISAPI connectors are installed and configured.  We have installed Coldfusion on over 40 servers, from version 7 through 11, and have not seen this problem before.

    Hi Jim,

You get that error only if the above IIS features are not installed. I am sure that, you are launching the web server config tool as an admin, although, that should not contribute.

Can you take a screen shot for these IIS features and share it.

I had this problem.  Fixed it by using   Server Manager -> Roles ->  Web Server  -> (Right Click) Add Role -> cgi

    Hi Jim,

Please ensure all of these IIS features are enabled:

    • ASP.NET
    • CGI
    • ISAPI Extensions
    • ISAPI Filters

The above options can be installed, by following the steps mentioned under Installing IIS Features on Windows 7 at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh167503(v=nav.70).aspx

Thanks for the quick response.  Each of the IIS features are installed and configured to match a test server at our office.  The test server is successfully running Coldfusion 11 in a Windows 2008 R2 Server (the differences are the R2 and that the other system is running under VMWare and that we upgraded the test server from Coldfusion 9 to 10 and from 10 to 11).  The server we cannot install - at a customer site - is a new installation.  The Coldfusion installation succeeds if we choose the default Apache server (which will not work for our product [www.intellipadcrm.com]) - but will not install for IIS.
