Hi all
i'm really confused about the BlazeDS release
is this remoting service aimed for Java Developers only
or can you invoke CFC's functions, just as easily as you could with previous versions of flash remoting ?
i really don't get it, Coldfusion is Adobe's product, and yet all the tutorials i could find for BlazeDS are Java Oriented
does Adobe has any plans on Buying Sun as well ?
Coldfusion is built on top of Java, so it make sense that there will be a way to use BlazeDS remoting service in conjunction with coldfusion
it doesn't make any sense to assume that every flash / flex developer that wants to harness to speed of AMF3
would have to know JAVA and choose JAVA as it's serverside language
anyone can shed some light on the matter ?

cheers
Yariv

I'm looking for more information about this as well Yariv. It's VERY difficult to find tutorials on using blazeDS with ColdFusion CFCs. Doesn't make any sense.

BlazeDS offers a subset of features that are available in LCDS (formerly Flex DS). FlexDS is part of CFMX7.02 and LCDS is part of ColdFusion 8. So, although you probably can use CF with BlazeDS you really should be working the dataservices built in.

Take a look at http://sujitreddyg.wordpress.com/2008/01/31/blazeds-and-lcds-feature-difference/

What is the strategy for ColdFusion when it comes to its integrated data messaging/management services ? I have just skimmed through the ColdFusion 8.01 update release notes, but NOT found info on its data services ...

Has it neither been updated to use the newest Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES 2.6, nor to be able to use Blaze DS ? And if not, when will its integrated data services be updated ?
