Guest

Hi,

I found this link http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Installing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cdec18969-7ff9.html regarding CF9 help extensions for Homesite+ but cannot find the file to which it refers.  Does anyone know where I can get this file????

Thanks!!!

I suspect an error in the documentation. It was EOL'd in 2009.

Looks like the last version released was the updates for CF8

Actually if you look at the top of the page in the link I included it says July 13, 2009 PRERELEASE.  1-2 months after the EOL announcement.  I'm pretty sure the file was created.  It apparently was just not released to the general public.  While the product was EOL'd there's no reason not to provide what is essentially a help file update especially if it already exists.  The software itself hasn't been updated in like 7 years.  It was likely a stupid marketing decision.  A really stupid one.  Yes, go ahead and alienate the people who have been using Cold Fusion for like 10+ years.  Those are the ones still using Homesite+ but of course not the only ones.  I want to get cranking in CF9 to push my company into an upgrade and now I have to either try to create my own file or work slower using HTML help.  Again, pretty stupid marketing move.

Well, that still does not rule out a simple error in the documentation. (Would that it did ...) It would hardly be the first time the documentation has contained errors or outdated entries on things that no longer apply.

Anyway, this is all just supposition. I do not know for certain, one way or the other ...

It could be, but it is a whole page and it is quite specific.  It's more likely a decision to exclude it's distribution just prior to official release.

Or they may have just done a find and replace on the documentation 😉 Anyway, if you want a definitive answer, you are probably better off asking adobe. These are just user to user forums.  You might also submit a bug report about the documentation.
