Uninstalling older version of Premiere Pro

New Here ,
Dec 19, 2023 Dec 19, 2023

I have installed Permiere Pro Version 24.1.0. However, the old version - Version 22.6.2 - does not appear amongst my list of installed apps in Creative Cloud so I am unable to uninstall the old version in the normal way (by clicking on the 3 dots and clicking 'uninstall'). In my Applications folder, I can see the old version of Premiere under a folder 'Premiere Pro 2022'. Whilst all my other Adobe app folders contain an 'uninstall' icon in them, this one does not. I would be grateful for any advice as to how to uninstall this old version.

I am running on a iMac, M1 chip, running OS 13.2.1.

Thanks

you can use the cc app to reinstall over your current install to restore the uninstaller

Hi @Michael34361905clto , how did you install v22 of Premiere Pro? You should see it in the list of installed apps in the Creative Cloud app if it was installed that way.

It was installed with Creative Cloud in the normal way. But, as mentioned above, the 2022 version does not, somehow, appear in the list of installef apps. The attached screenshots in the original message show what I can see. If I were to reinstall over the current install, I would, as far as I can tell, only be reinstalling the latest version - Premiere Pro 2024.

what do you see after clicking the 3 dots next to pre 2024?

( copy and paste here that screenshot, don't attach.)

Hi @kglad - nothing now that I have uninstalled version 2024. But when I clicked on the the three dots before it gave me the option to uninstall as per the attached screenshot. Previous versions were available only dating back to releases of version 23.

ouch.

then i assume uninstalling 2024 was no help. ie, you still have no wayto use the cc app to reinstall 2022.

if true, check the iobit uninstaller.

Yes, no way of using CC to uninstall. Can you please let me know what 'iobit uninstaller' is? Do you mean this? See screenshot. If so, this uninstaller in the application folder is not appearing for some reason...

you're looking at previous versions to install 2022.

No, I am looking to uninstall version 2022 and have the latest version installed. I uninstalled the 2024 version in the hope that CC would recognise the 22 version I have installed already and give me the option to uninstall.

@kglad your message referred to an 'iobit uninstaller'. I wasn't sure if this was a typo or what it was.

back to the beginning: again, you should use the cc app to install 2022 over your current installation in order to restore its uninstaller.

Ok - I tried but I couldn't see the old version listed. When I click on 'install older versions' I only have 2023 versions listed. At the bottom, it has a link to 'Looking for older versions? View more' but there don't seem to be any options to install my version (22.6.2). I am sure I am sure it is easy enough - I just can't find it!

@kglad thanks for all your help with this. In the end Adobe support were able to uninstall via screensharing.
