I'm on macOS 13.5 with an iMac M1.

Until a week or so ago when I quit CC Desktop it offered the option to Hide or Quit.

This is no longer the case and it immediately Quits.

Will the Hide option be restored?
And by Hide, I mean it no longer shows in the App Switcher, etc.

Hi @Steve K Walker , the "hide" option is still present. Since you're on a macOS machine, if you click on the "red" close button at the top left, that will hide the app. If you're quitting via cmd + Q, then that will cause the app to exit.

Sure, we can get this documented. Removing the additional prompt has been a request we've gotten multiple times which is why we removed it when someone chooses to quit the app.

For reference, here's the other side of this 🙂

Hey @kglad , the "lock" indicates that their plan no longer contains an entitlement to that app. If they click on the app mnemonic, they will be presented with a way to get the entitlement.

Thank you.

But this should be documented.
You've significantly changed the app's behaviour without telling users how it's changed.

Ah !!
Maybe it should be a Preference?
You've changed the behaviour for one user's request (or were there more?) — there may be more like me who don't know how to get it working again.
The first place I looked was the Preferences — to see if it was now an option that could be turned on or off.

There were lots more people complaining about the previous behavior for a while 🙂 There were some technical constraints that needed to get resolved first. With that dialog we had previously, we were not being consistent with how other apps behave on macOS (and what Apple specifies). Typically, when using cmd + Q, it's a quit action. Closing the window is a hide action. There's some apps that will also quit if no windows/docs are open.

You didn't answer the part about being able to Hide the app WITHOUT it appearing in the app switcher.  Sure, I can manually hide CC via Cmd-H but then its icon is there in the app switcher when before this change the app would be "hidden" but NOT show its icon in the app switcher.  I don't mind the app running in the background, but it is an (minor, but existing) annoyance to have it cluttering the switcher.  Between this, the flopped Express rollout, and LrC library files going missing, Adobe is really losing my trust.

Kalvyn Rasquinha did answer this — it was my original question before the thread was hijacked.
You can check the answers above for the one marked correct.
Or you can just close CC using the Red Check button instead of CMD-H.

Hi @jamesr78070053 , you can click on the red button on the top left of the app window to close the window (instead of hiding it) to prevent it from showing in the app switcher. That behavior has not changed.

What issues are you having with Express and Lightroom Classic?
