Creative Cloud Desktop App does not start automatically after Windows 11 has booted

Hello everyone,

I have the following issue: My Creative Cloud Desktop app does not start automatically when Windows 11 has booted. I configured in the settings that the app should start automatically, but I do not succeed.

I remember that the app used to start properly some time ago (possibly when I still used Windows 10) and therefore I am seeking for help and advice here.

I would be grateful for any kind of advice. Thank you!

Yes, it does. When I start the app from the start menu, it also works perfectly. The only problem is that the CC desktop app does not start automatically, which prevents me from synchronizing my downloaded fonts for example.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

then check the option to start app with win start up.

Thank you for your fast reply but unfortunately your advice did not solve my problem.

Some time ago I even uninstalled the CC desktop app and reinstalled it - still the same issue.

ok, let's make you sure you're checking the correct setting.  you should be opening your cc desktop app > clicking the top left hamburger menu > clicking file > clicking preferences > general > enable launch cc at login:

These are exactly the options I checked (and which were checked before).

ok.  and you have an individual (not teams and not enterprise) subscription, correct?

if yes, you have an individual subscription:

repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using*

*
use the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.

OK, I'll try that tomorrow.

Would I only have to reinstall the CC app in worst case? I would not like to reinstall all other Adobe apps since I customized the apps in a lot of aspects and fear losing all of my preferences.

you can't uninstall the cc desktop app while other adobe apps are installed.  so, if the first steps don't work you won't be able to continue with the adobe cc fixes that require cc desktop uninstall.

Repairing the app worked fine - and I realized that the autostart option for Adobe CC was deactivated in my CCleaner software 😕 After activating it again, the CC app now starts fine after booting. By the way: Is there a way to start the CC app without the windows opening on the desktop?

After restarting my PC, the CC app did not start. I uninstalled CCleaner now, which obviously automatically deactivates the entry so that CC does not start. Now everything works fine 🙂 Thank you for your assistance! 🙂

I intentionally disabled Creative Cloud Desktop on StartUp to save resources.  I don't need it 90% of the time.  When I do need it, I launch it the same as any other app from my Windows Start Menu or a desktop shortcut icon.

See below for details on how to Pin Apps to your Taskbar or Desktop.

Windows 11, Add Apps to StartUp.

Hope that helps.
