I have had Creative Cloud for years and all of a sudden it does not list photoshop as installed and I did not get last automatic update. Why? Should I re install photoshop?

either leave well-enough alone (assuming ps is installed and working correctly), or reinstall. over the current installation.

As @kglad mentioned is the application missing just from the listing within Creative Cloud app or is it gone from the computer as well?

Hi, I hope it's OK to jump into this feed as well. My Creative Cloud doesn't show that my Photoshop v24.4.0 is installed on my computer anymore and therefore doesn't offer the option to update to v24.5, my Bridge / LR / ACR are all showing in CC and are up to date. My existing PS appears to be working but can't see the latest PS update version. If I just install either the latest PS version or the PS Beta version from Creative Cloud will I lose all of my existing preferences, brushes, presets and Actions etc. What is the best way to proceed, many thanks.

you shouldn't lose any settings unless you select that option when installing a new major version.

Thank you very much, my PS / LR / ACR have always been pretty good so I haven't had to do any real troubleshooting / fixes before. My Creative Cloud is v5.10.0.573 on a Win 10 Desktop PC; would it be best to try to uninstall CC then reinsall to see if my PS upgrade options come back first or should I just reinstall PS straight over my existing installation ?

you could try:
reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:
Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R
if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html
if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.

Thanks but still not working properly. Tried in sequence as above: Windows reset, commands worked but not fixed. Uninstaller App, unzipped and ran Repair twice, CC repaired both times but not fixed. Uninstaller App, unzipped again as the .exe file is auto deleted during setups and ran Uninstall, CC was deleted but had to remove extra registry files it left behind during uninstall process. Downloaded & installed Creative_Cloud_Set-Up.exe, CC v5.10.0.573 was installed again but didn't fix problem. Installed Apps shows Bridge / LR Classic / Camera Raw all up to date but Available in your plan Apps still only shows that Photoshop is available to install., it doesn't realise that it is already installed. Rechecked and PS is still not showing any available updates.

that leaves my first suggestion (which is the one most likely to work), or a clean reinstall of cc.

OK thanks for all your help, it's after midnight here in the UK so I will try to install Photoshop straight over my current version when I am a bit fresher in the morning. I might try the Beta version as that's showing up as a big advert on the main Creative Cloud All Apps page and I can hopefully restore my PC to tonights version if it goes horribly wrong...

Hi, sorry but I jumped into your original post a few days back as I was having the same issues with PS not being listed in Creative Cloud and couldn't auto-upgrade to newer versions. I've just installed the latest PS from Creative Cloud but it hasn't taken any of my existing bits & pieces over with it. Did you have any extra Actions / Brushes / Presets installed before you loaded the latest Photoshop, and if so, do they still work OK ? I'm asking just for info as my latest query about this has been moved into a new post, I'm just curious as to how you got on with these extra items if you had them installed. Many thanks, Leon.

Found out that my Google Chrome had problems as well & wouldn't open so I restored my PC to pre PS BETA & v24.5 versions and restarted again this morning. Uninstalled PS via CC and latest v24.5 installed with existing preferences intact, opened a test file and everything appears to be working OK. Again many thanks for all your help & support.
