Issues with Adobe Creative Cloud After Update: Slow Performance and Missing Files

I just updated cc and all my files were not loading and cc was sluggish. I contracted help on Adobe and they said nothing about the system wasn't working on their end. I found out by looking on the interent to see if they had outages, and yes, a lot, on and off. The person I talked to said nothing about it. I finally got it working but slow as hell and not again, all my images are gone again!

It is likely that you know much more than the person who was helping you.  I believe that it is a good idea to share your discoveries with the customer service team.  My expectation is that they are in sync in the back office.  If not, I will certainly let them know that this is a problem.

I have a similar issue of Creative Cloud being as slow as hell when loading libraries and adding files to them. I don't think it's a sync issue, as I suppose cloud syncing is done in the background, like with Dropbox. The issue then is with the local copy of the libraries. I just cannot seem to find any settings to tune the behavior. Nor can I find a local copy of the library or a way to move it to a faster disk.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails and you have windows, open your control panel > add/remove programs > cc desktop app > repair

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials>

if that fails, you probably have a corrupt user account. google your os and how to create a new one.

Thanks. I knew about the Ctrl + Alt + R repair feature.

I do not wish to uninstall and reinstall everything I have by Adobe. With the dozens of plugins and thousands of presets, it would take me a year to add everything back in.

I found out that restarting my PC fixed some of my issues for a while. Creative Cloud still isn't fast after a full restart, but it is workable. But after a while CC slows down even further. After a few days, it reaches a point that it becomes unusable and I have to restart again. I hate restarting my PC because not every app, file, tab or window comes back up automatically again. So I usually make a list of the dozens of open items, then reboot and load everything up again manually. Rebooting takes me about an hour or more.

I spent considerable time with adobe tech and it worked slightly better when I got off line. He thought the pics would load in my library, some do, some groups don't.  I loaded one section up yesterday and they are gone today.

Seems to me it's since the last two updates, no problem before that. Are you fixing this problem on your side?  It continure to be so slow and sluggish and you can't be sure the images are there, and have to wait all over again.  What gives???

these forums are user-to-user forums.  ie, there's no problem on my side.

but if you want to check for problems on adobe's side, https://status.adobe.com/
