Hi guys
last year I was able to uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud not without going through some hassle.
This time I can't do so, I will always tell me "Creative Cloud can't uninstall there are softwares that require it."
I even used the separate creative cloud uninstaller provided here https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html but when I restarted the laptop, all the Adobe files inside the hidden /Library where still there, and also the background processes! That Sync process that looks more like a Trojan.
Why am I trying to unistall it the day after paying for it?
Because my laptop has become very slow after installing the creative suite, especially when on video calls. And this is terribly affecting my productivity.
I wanted to uninstiall it as a troubleshoot step to assess that the deteriorate performances were to be attributed 100% to Adobe.
My laptop is an intel i9 8-core, 2.3Ghz, 64Gb RAM and 1 Tb of HD, with AMD Radeon Pro 5500
I never experienced any slow down ever since before.
Questions:
- Could you help me understand the right way to unistall it or I should think Adobe does not to allow the software to be uninstalled.
When running the uninstaller, despite having uninstalled all the software, the Application folder tells me that it cannot uninstall due to software still being present (note: Camera Raw cannot be uninstalled from the Creative Cloud interface nor I can find the Camera Raw in the Application fodler)
- Anyone whose laptop became extra slow after installing the Adobe Creative Cloud?

follow each applicable step. ie, you may have to skip to the (last) cleaner step.
uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

Hi Kglad, thanks a lot for your reply,
I tried these steps before and this separate uninstaller didn't remove the "Adobe Content Synchronizer Finder Extension (1426)" process, which kept running in the background even after unistalling everything.
(I'm not referring to the uninstall .app that you find in the package when installing the Creative Cloud, but to the one you linked in the reply and that I also linked in the main thread)

i'm assuming nothing adobe is installed on your computer (though i know program remnants remain). if that's correct:
restart your computer
terminate all adobe processes.
run the cleaner

Hi Klad, thanks for following up
yes nothing adobe is installed, plus I turned off and on and also restarted a couple of times the computer before posting my reply

do you know how to use task manager (ctrl-alt-del)?
do you know what adobe reader is?

(of course I know what the Task Manager is, although in a macOS environment the keyboard combination would vary, you can open it also from the Terminal. But this if off-topic)

then use the activity monitor to terminate adobe processes before cleaning.

[Update]
I re-run again these steps and it told me it's removed completely.
But this is false, login items are still in place as well as backgroung processes and files under /Library.
Why is that? How can I remove this process from being run in the background?

1. acrobat reader is not related to adobe cc. if you want to uninstall that, do so using the reader uninstaller.
2. to terminate any running process in window, use your task manager
3. after terminate the running processes, retry running the cleaner.

I don't have acrobat reader installed.
What I am referring to is: Adobe Content Synchronizer Finder Extension. Which comes specifically with the Adobe Creative Suite

[Update] I might have found the catch over here, there 3 are AdobeSync folders saved under Utilities that the Installer does not remove.
After dragging them to the trash and deleting the files with "adobe" in their name under the hidden directory /Libray the background process seems not triggered.
I can still see the Adobe option for the Creative Suite in the login items.

after deleting files and/or terminating processes, retry running the cleaner.

Hi Kglad
thanks for following up on this,
I did re-run the cleaner and the prompt message is "Uninstallation of Creative Cloud desktop completed with errors".
With everything deleted or uninstalled, I noticed a higher CPU load today than previous days when I haven't had the Creative Suite installed.
Still I'm flummoxed that these uninstall processes are not removing file under /Library nor other two apps I had to manually remove, namely:
- Core syn app
- Creative cloud management

what did task manager show was consuming your cpu?

Process: Adobe Content Synchronizer Finder Extension which is listed twice.
I tried various partial uninstall and reinstall and now it seems better, although problem isnìt solved as I can't restrict it to an issue
Right now the creative cloud does not start and you won't see it in the bar at the top of the screen when starting the device, I am guessing this is contributing.

the number of listings in task manager is irrelevant. the % of cpu is relevant. what's the total % used by synchronizer?

Hi kglad, thanks for following up with an interesting insight,
At the time of my post around 30% was the CPU usage for the Adobe processes.
What shouldn't happen is when I uninstall the software and the Suite that they stay active in the background, even if at 0.1
After reinstalling and removing the abovementioned files I was able to limit the CPU usage to under 3%
Sync process has a
real memory ~ 21Mb
virtual ~ 35 Gb
shared ~ 16 Gb
private ~ 3 Mb

if any adobe sync process is active, one or more files are (trying to) synch.
