Conflicted Files

I know this question has been asked before, I'm sure.

I am working with an outside designer (we are on a server network and using CC).

Is there anyway we can tell if the designer has an Indesign file open?

If she has a file open and we open it, we have no idea, then we get the conflicted file message.

It's making us both nervous. Has anyone worked out a workaround to this?

We have this issue as well. Can the Adobe Developers add a 'badge' icon or a 'colour tag' to any file that is open (being used) by another team member? It's so vital for us in the publishing industry.

    Ok, Adobe customer service says, nope, if an offsite designer is working on an Indesign file in CC there is NOTHING that indicates it's open. We have to tell each other.

    So, we are trying to figure out a workaround for this, any suggestions?

    We are considering putting the file in a "Live" folder while the designer is in it, and pulling it back out when they aren't.

    Any suggestions for how you work this out to ensure multiple people aren't in the files by accident is appreciated!

      We've tried renaming files with "a_" hence lifting them to the top of the Finder list. But renaming files can cause its own issues.
