Creative cloud desktop app won't auto-install updates

Even though I have my preferences set to Auto-update for all installed programs, Creative Cloud still flags me to update manually. Auto-update will not work. FYI, MacOS Monterey v. 12.5. Also, while one of my programs has plugins that may conflict (Ai), most do not. Please let me know a fix for this, if known. Thanks.

@K-Rox,
Can you update Creative Cloud desktop app to ensure you have the latest version?

See this help article for more details.

Thank you, however, there is no option to update the Creative Cloud app.
Per the info on the linked page you provided, "If you aren’t using the
latest version of the Creative Cloud desktop app, a prompt to update will
appear. Select Update."

Since there is no prompt to update the desktop app, and since I have
preferences set to "Always Keep Creative Cloud Up to Date", then I assume
it must be up to date. It is Adobe Creative Cloud version 5.8.0.592.

The info presented at your link page gives instructions for a scenario
where "Available updates are not listed". That is *not* my problem. Here is
the description of my problem once again:

Creative Cloud auto-update of apps is not working although I have set the
Creative Cloud preferences to auto-update all apps (in the desktop Creative
Cloud preferences/ side nav apps/ all selected to Auto-update). It says at
window top: Auto-update. Let the Creative Cloud app keep all of your apps
up to date automatically. That is NOT WORKING. The apps are not
automatically updating, as they should. Instead, I received prompts that I
must update.

Thanks for your help, Kate

Click your Avatar > Select Preferences.  Click on Apps tab.

When Update Apps is selected, you should see a list of all installed apps on your system something like this.  Is the list populating?

If not, Reset the App.

Mac: Cmd + Option + R

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R

Failing that, I suggest you reach out to Adobe Technical Support below.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.
