Creative Cloud Virus?

A few days ago my fonts were not syncing and troubleshooting wasn't working so I contacted Adobe through creative cloud on the live chat. The agent I spoke with asked if they could control my screen and I obliged (big mistake, definitely should have thought that through) because I assumed since it was directly through the creative cloud application it was legit. As soon as I downloaded the software and gave them control, they started to go to sketchy looking sites and download some weird software. Immedietly after that I started to get fake notifications and pop ups that were definitely a virus. I tried to let them know something was wrong and they ignored it and would not allow me to have control back, I had to literally fight for the mouse until I managed to click the end chat button. This is not normal, right? I tried to call adobe and there were no extensions that took me to the right place. I did some more research and found an article saying the create cloud app was a virus in itself?? I don't think thats true because I use it daily and have never had an issue until this. Does anyone have any more insight on this situation or a similar situation? I do not want to use the live chat again to contact adobe but do not know how else to reach them. Just looking for more information on this to ensure it doesn't happen again. thanks!

It was just through the creative cloud desktop app: account > contact us and it took me to the live agent

there's no direct link to a live agent. all legitimate links are to adobe's chat bot. from the bot you can reach a live agent, but that's not direct.
