Library Files Sync

I use the files in my CC Library regularly on my desktop but never on my laptop yet CC stores local version of the library files on my laptop as well and they're taking up a considerable amount of space. I do use Lr to sync to my laptop so turning off sync completely would impact that. Is there anyway to make the library files not install locally on my laptop?

I don't want to just delete them in fear of the files syncing and getting deleted on my desktop as well.

I do have sync paused on my laptop, sometimes I need to turn it on to sync Lightroom however and my fear is that if I delete the library files on my laptop when I turn sync on it will delete the library files from the cloud and my desktop as well (I've read this happened to someone else when attempting this).

So I'm curious if I can somehow prevent Library files from being stored locally without having to completely deactivate syncing.

you shouldn't use synced files for anything important. ie, copy anything important to another local directory.

Not using important files in the Library or backing up sync'd files doesn't address my issue. The files I have in my Library are important because they are used in a wide variety different retouching situations I encounter and it is a huge time saver, they are backed up.

I don't use Library files on my laptop so I don't want them taking up 10's of GB's on my laptop. I also don't want them to either install on the laptop or delete from the desktop everytime sync on the laptop is turned on.

you can contact adobe support and ask them to there are 3 ways to contact adobe; chat, phone and twitter:

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

phone:
https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-com... it to you.
