Local CC Library files taking up too much space on Mac

Community Beginner ,

I am having space and performance issues on my MacBook Pro. We use CC Library a lot in our collaborative work and the folder located under Creative Cloud Libraries>LIBS>xxxxxx_AdobeId>collaborated>dcx is hogging 46GB of much-needed space on my hard drive. Is there anything I can do about this? I can't delete files from the libraries themselves because we need them, but can I not have them locally on my device?

if you don't want to store them locally, you should use a different (from adobe) cloud service.

Our main files are in Dropbox, but we regularly pass assets through CC Library. It's not ideal, but it's what I'm dealing with at the moment. I just want to be able to free up disk space.

if you use adobe's cloud storage you'll be unable to control local storage.

I believe you all are confusing "creative cloud files (CCfiles)" with "creative cloud libraries ( CCLibs )"

I'm not the OP but I'm having similar issues. my CC libraries have taken up all my space on my hard drive. Is it at all possible to NOT have them stored locally? More of a download-as-needed basis?

Yes, this is only referring to CCLibs.

Hi

@andreab68981374

,

Thank you for your patience. You can only export and import Creative Cloud libraries  to your local device, here is the link you can see for more info- https://adobe.ly/3xklvoH

Hi all- I am having this same issue. FIRST- I am specifically referring the CC Libraries (not files) and they are taking up on LOT of my storage  on harddrive. I used CC Libraries bc I thought they were stored in cloud. I did notice if I remove the image from the Libs folder, although it still shows in CC, I am not able to place it into doc on Illustrator. So I am assuming I cannot delete them. Issue is- I have the original files. I dont need three versions- 1) orginial 2) CC online and 3) the CC Lib that save locally. Can I delete the 3rd one? Any kind words to help are appreciated! 🙂 Heather
