My portfolio site not showing in Google Search results

Community Beginner ,

Hi! My portfolio website used to show at the top of the Google search results when searching for my name, but now, without changing any settings, it doesn't show up at all in the search results, not even at the bottom. Just to give you an example, even my MySpace page shows in the first page of the search results, which I haven't used in at least 15 years.

If I enter site:(my website name) in Google search, it does return all of the pages of my site, so it seems that my site in indexed by Google.

If I go to Google search console my domain seems to be verified. It seems strange that previously it was at the top of the search result, but now not at all. Is there anything that I should try to solve the problem? Thanks

This is not a Portfolio question per se.  Search engine optimization is a sub-specialty all it's own.  Google changes search algorithms too frequently to count.  One day you're on top, tomorrow you're not.  Also different localizations get different search results.

The only sure fire way to remain on top of search engines is to advertise.  And of course optimize your web pages with plenty of relevant, keyword-rich content. See links below.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for the links. I will have a read through.

It just seems strange that my site doesn't show in Google Search Results (at all) even if I scroll through all of the pages.

How old is your Portfolio site?

How much real text content does it contain?

What's the URL?

HI Nancy, I have this issue too. We have a very content heavy websitt hat I setup initially as just a way to get a presence and due to limitations with portfolio on another website we intened to move it to a wordpress based site eventually but even as of now, with the site being established and indexed for a couple years and updated, it's nt showing up for any keyword search terms. It's not an SEO issue unless someone can look at our sites and see what we're doing wrong. Is anyone able to do that?  http://IMPACT20twenty.com

Everyone on the planet wants to be #1 on Google Searches.   You are competing with millions & millions of other sites.

When I type this into my browser's address bar, I get 8 results on page #1:

Google: https://impact20twenty.com/

So you are being indexed by Google.  But if you want greater visibility, I urge you to buy keyword ads on Google and Bing.  And keep running ads until your site develops more traction.

Good luck.
