No search results in my CC library

I have my setting to search ALL libraries but when I search for an image I KNOW is there it says "no search results". Then if I go to the actually library where it lives I can plainly see that the image is there (and has the name I was searchin for)! What is going on with the search feature in the libraries. It is driving my NUTS not being able to search all libraries. Can anyone help?

I am having the same problem.  It is very annoying.  I search my libraries constantly, so this is something that broke in a recent update.

I tried this and it did not work. I still get no search results for items I KNOW are in my library and I have to find them manually! It's SUPER frustrating.

I have the same problem when searching within my libraries. When I search, it says no result found (screenshot1.png). It clearly shows that I have that folder in my library (screenshot2.png). After I click on the folder to open that library and shows my assets (screenshot3.png) when I go back to the search function it will then show all the assets (screenshot4.png).

So the search function essentially works only after visiting that specific library.

Hi Amanda, @sjhodel , and Florien,

To help us identify if these are the same issues, can you please provide us with further details?

 

  • Operating System and version
  • What apps you are searching in (Ps/Ai for Amanda)
  • Are you having problems searching for elements or groups or both? (So far: elements for Amanda, groups (folders) for Florien)
  • Do the search results change if you View by Type vs View by Group?
  • Do you have the same problem on Creative Cloud Desktop app? How about assets.adobe.com?
  • Does navigating to view the element in the library, and then searching for it, affect the search result? If that makes it appear in the results, does it go away after restarting the app?
  • Most importantly, what version of the panel and app are you using? You can find the cc libraries panel version in the top right menu of the panel, under "What's New".
  • If you have any screenshots as well, that is always helpful. (Already have Florien's, thank you.)

 

We will look into this and see if we can replicate the issue. Thank you for the additional info.

Hi,

  • I currently have Monterey version 12.6.8 (Our team's OS range from having Big Sur, Monterey, and Sonoma) Our team shares the same libraries and we all have the same search function issues.
  • I'm searching primarily on Ai but have tried it across on Ps and Id with the same issues.
  • The search doesn't show up anything no matter the view type.
  • The Creative Cloud Desktop app shows all of our library assets and when searching by name of the graphic there, the assets shows up. It seems to be just when searching within the software itself.
  • When I navigate within the folder to view the element, I can view and select the element just fine. After navigating to view the element and searching for it makes it show up. For instance, we have a folder of recycle logo elements named RECYCLE, and within this folder there's elements of recycle logos with different naming conventions. I try to search for recycle from the main library panel but nothing shows up. After navigating to the RECYCLE folder library and viewing the whole list and return to the main libary panel, I search again and the recycle logos appear. It does go away after restarting the Ai app.
  • We have tried opening the library on Ai 2023, Ai 2024 and even Id 2022 versions and seems to have the same search issues. One team member operating the latest version Ai 2024 with a Sonoma OS version seems to have an issue of opening the library and only certain elements is showing up and the rest are blank. We have the January 2024 - Version 4.4.461 of cc libraries.
  • I've attached an additional screenshot where only certain elements appear. They do appear on cc desktop app.

  • Ps/Ai/Id
  • I am searching for elements
  • Same problem if view by type or group
  • I don't search in the Creative Cloud desktop app but no the problem isn't happening there. The results show. However, I AM having the same issue on assests.adobe.com (no search results)
  • Yes, if I navigate to the library and then search the element does show up. YES it goes away after restarting the app.
  • I am using the latest versions of all the apps (Photoshop 25.6.0) and the library panel is version 4.4.461

Additionally, I noticed that when I first select a group it breifly says "There is nothing in this group" and then after a second or two the images load. (See attached screenshot)

Also the Creative Cloud Icon in my top task bar is showing a warning icon but when I go into the app there is no warning anywhere. Why is the warning icon displaying?

Amanda, regarding the warning icon, usually you should be able to see some information about it if you click to open Creative Cloud Desktop. There may be notifications or other warnings showing there.
