Node.js JavaScript Runtime

New Here ,
Sep 06, 2025 Sep 06, 2025

notieced since a few days ago, this app is running background.  not sure if its legit app for adobe.

Node.js JavaScript Runtime

location is here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud Experience\libs

i want to make sure this is not malware or spyware...   i am not tech savvy but enough to know to stay alert any new activityies as i noticed that i saw this app pop (green logo) up time to time (appear and disappear in a secon) so i went task manager to see what is running background and found this...

Please advise if its safe or what to check if its legit.

Thank you.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

node.exe is a legitimate adobe program. whether what you have is that legitimate app or something else can't be determined here.

why don't you scan it?

Thank you.  My challenge is that i know how to scanned and view task manager  but i cant tell which one looks ok or not in task manager. ths particular item Node.js JavaScript Runtime - not sure this name validates me if its legit.  or what do i look for if its really legit. location, publisher, exe...?

the name isn't a determining factor.

oh i misunderstood.. how to evaluate the file?  thats how i should ask first place.  i know they can manupulate the file name so my real question is how to "evaluate the file" ... what factor would confirm if its legit...

Hi @happy_Wonder7652,

Welcome to the community! I'd like to inform you that Creative Cloud Content Manager and Creative Cloud Libraries Synchronizer use the background process node.js. It's used by any Creative Cloud app that uses the node framework.

Please check this article for more info- https://adobe.ly/4gdWQV4
