Unify software versions

Why don't you unify the app version numbers? I understand the development, but the cc2021 version has dozens of subversions... wouldn't it be a lot easier to unify them all in version 20 or 30, or whatever, instead of this mess? One is 22,  other 17, another one is 18, all in the same version of creative cloud...
Wouldn't be that hard right? all that is lacking is organization in development management.

these are user-to-user forums.  you can make your suggestion to adobe here (https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html).

(but it's highly unlikely that would be done because it would cause many problems and solves none except your, and possibly others, sense of organization.)

I will post in correct forum, thkx!
(But that's a matter of ease of use. When someone says "version 17" we all have to keep looking to see which version of CC it is. It makes everyone's life easier, not just mine)
best regards

it might make your life easier, but it won't make everyone's easier.  are you going to change the version numbers of older programs?  are you going make the first version of adobe's next new app version 22, for example?  some people will be wondering where's version 1,..,21. etc etc etc

and surely you don't propose resetting all the version numbers back to 1 with the next new app.

and imo, if there's any issue with versioning, it's the different designations adobe uses for different versions.  eg, sometimes the latest app is cc 2021 and sometimes it's version xx.xx.xx.  but even this has a logic to it. anyway, feel free to propose your recommendation to adobe for how they should version their apps.

Sounds to me like you're conflating the version number for the Creative Cloud and the version numbers for the separate applications offered through it. Those are obviously going to have numbers that differ, since they have different release dates and version upgrades.

Yes, people really do need to state which program they're referring to when they give a version number, even if they put the post in the correct product forum. It's hard sometimes to get people to do that, though. They tend to be focused on the issue they're having and not remembering that people trying to help will need more information. 🙂
