This problem has been reported as a BUG in the User Voice section for Creative Cloud Services requesting that it is investigated and corrected.
Classified as topic under Desktop Sync.
Link for Bug report :
There seems to be no category choice to select either 'Idea' or 'Bug Report' on this User Voice site for Creative Cloud so it defaults to 'Idea Category' which is not strictly true as it is a problem that needs fixing.
imo it's unwise to fail to maintain locally controlled files. ie, trusting any cloud service to maintain important files is imprudent.

Hi @JonesVid,
We're sorry to hear about this. When you say "My files", are you referring to the Creative Cloud web or creative cloud files folder? Could you please let us know how did you upload the video? Did you upload it through assets.adobe.com or via the Creative Cloud Files folder? Also, what is the file format of the video you've uploaded?
You can use this link to report a Bug or Idea for the Creative Cloud app: https://community.adobe.com/t5/creative-cloud-desktop/ct-p/ct-creative-cloud-desktop?page=1&sort=lat...

Tarun

Hello Tarun,
Thanks for responding.
I'm uploading files to the Creative Cloud Web platform.
So most of the time I have been syncing files by dropping onto the Creative Cloud folders on my desktop, (although by Feb 2024 it will have to be manual as Desktop Sync is stopping?)
In fact, at least 2 years ago I have was having this ‘Octet’ defined file shown even when I uploaded manually.
Then replies on the Forum suggested you should ALWAYS sync via the Creative Cloud Folders within desktop/explorer (I am using Windows 11 on my main machine and Windows 10 on my old back up machine)
I’m tending to upload H264 or H265 video files
Typically about only 12 to 15MB/s resulting in file sizes of about 2.5GB for a 25 min video file.
Sometimes need 2 or 3 attempts at uploading to get it to work before file corectly shows MP4 and the Icon versus Blank icon and OCTET.
My internet connection is good/stable with 20MB/s upload.
Please come back for more info if you need it.
Regards

I am now waiting for response to my bug report post why files are not correctly uploading to the 'My Files' area of Creative Cloud storage.
**It has also occurred to me that after Feb 2024 announcement when Adobe withdraw the 'DeskTop Sync function to synchronise Creative Cloud Folder on your PC/MAC with the Cloud - can anyone explain how a file greater than 1GB can be uploaded directly to the assets.adobe.com site.
It was my understanding that uploading a file greater than 1GB in size is not possible with this direct method and you had to rely on Desktop Sync only for larger files >1GB ?
A File >1GB is not unusual in the year 2023 !

because the adobe cc sync folder is being terminated in the next few months, you shouldn't expect any "fixes" for problems.

Well that doesn't surprise me - but does that mean I could then upload a file greater than 1GB via assets.adobe.com once desktop sync dies ?
Is that still the official size limit at present?.
I think Adobe needs to fix this limit as Creative Cloud is a 'Mickey Mouse' cloud with a 1GB limit.
Users working in 4K video would find this 1GB limit unrealistic, particularly as there is a total 100GB space allocation.
What do the Product Managers for Adobe Creative Cloud propose as an alternative if we are already paying an increased Monthly subscription fee anyway?

i wouldn't expect any enhancements to adobe's end of the cc sync folder, but i have no inside info.

Hi @JonesVid,
Thanks for the info. Could you please share the HAR file with us after trying to upload the file? Here is the link to get the file:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m98WFEXbhIs&ab_channel=AstralWebInc
Also, are you seeing the issue with H264 or H265 video files or any other format? We're here to help, just need some info.
Regards,
Tarun

Hello Tarun,
All my files are either H264 or H265 that are uploaded to 'My Files' on CC Cloud.
I do use Pro Res files but those are stored locally due to size
I normally use Firefox (latest build) but I assume I need to use Chrome Browser for the .HAR file generation?
Please confirm.
Can I then use Firefox to upload it?
I'll use Chrome first then share with you

I have followed the directions in the You Tube video to generate an HAR file looking at Assets.adobe.com My Files area
This is where my video files are iploaded
Looking at the contents of this HAR file it contains information specific to me and my computer.
Why did you suggest sharing this on an open forum?
Please provide me with a private secure means of getting this to you.
You do not appear in the Community Private message directory
Thank you.

Sorry, I thought if they were not in the Adobe Private names directory they could not be contacted that way. I'd always used that method in the past with contacts.
Now I know. Thank you.

So this is infurating. I've been using creative cloud since 2014 and this probelm has been aorund for 9 years. Uploading files is toatlly unreliable and frequently shows up as "octet". Adobe support acts like tis the first they've ever heard of this. I recently tried to upload a 4.4 GB AE project. about 75% of the .mov files showed up as "octect" all shot the same way and same format. I'm just going to put the project on my Icloud account and share it that way. Let me repeat this for clarity. 9 years and no fix for an error that doesnt exist on any other cloud based platform, on a subscription based service. Creative cloud is absoltuly the worst cloud based service a professional could ever use to sync projects or files.

Creative Cloud storage is now a waste of time. Adobe have pulled the rug for all file syncing anyway from February 1st 2024 - even though we are all paying the same subscription.
All personal subscribers to this service have been treated badly.
I don't think even Microsoft, Google or Apple would have done this.
Adobe have played the 'we reserve the right to modify services of your subscription ....... Ace card'
As a Cloud Storage for files ongoing or completed work the service is dreadful.
I think they have probably withdrawn cloud syncing because they could not make it work in a reliable way and gave up.

Thanks - but as other users have pointed out even uploading files manually results in a high likelyhood of upload failure with the dreaded ' Octet' label on the file which is useless and has to be deleted.
I've now gone over to using One Drive as that never fails.

Yes agree. I only use Cloud for occasional distribution to contacts. All backups locally (twice sometimes !)
