I have Adobe 5 files on a CD. I believe these files were created (circa 2000) I am now running Windows 10 and encountering errors and cannot open the files.

Any suggestions please to help me access these files???

What is an "Adobe 5 file"? Over the years, Adobe have made hundreds of apps, many of them made it to version 5?

As well as the app, please give exact text of errors.

This will allow your post to be moved to where the right experts will see it.

Hi @rosalynh54925908,

Assuming you mean Adobe Acrobat 5 and the files in question are PDF, try using a modern version of Acrobat.  Do not use your browser's built-in PDF viewer.

FREE Acrobat Reader -- view, comment, print & sign PDF.

Paid Acrobat Pro DC -- the complete solution for creating and saving PDF.

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions
