ADE crashing on Win10 64x

ADE (tried with 3.0 & 4.5) running on Win10 64x freezing/crashing/not responding after downloading any eBook.

I get no error messages. Just says fulfilling download, eBook appears but cannot click on anything or even close the program as has crashed. I force close ADE and re-open but eBook disappeared. I have to re-install ADE to get it to load back up but get the same crash every time.

    Yes. The problem here is with the Digital Editions program freezing (as explained in my original post), not with the download of the .acsm file.


    Closed Digital Edition.

    Remove My Digital Edition Folder under you Documents.
    Right click on Digital Edition and choose run as admin.

    Then go to File > Add to Library.

    Choose the File.

    AE worked fine until last Win10 update, since then books download OK but will not open - 'AE not responding'.  Spent last 2 days trying to resolve without success.  So changed to Overdrive which works fine

    Try right Click on Digital Edition and Run as Admin.

    No dice - when trying the above the acsm doesn't seem to open and the download does not therefore initiate.

    Has you try again download with a other internet browser?
