ADE no longer lets me download ebrary books

Used to be able to download unproblematically from campus library. However, about two years ago, it just stopped working. It says that the license isn't valid. I tried to reinstall the program, but it keeps opening up the older version. I tried to throw it away, but it still resurrects itself. To add to the problem, I no longer seem to be able to find my ADE password in order to erase authorization. I'd like to just jettison the program and start over. Any ideas?
