Adobe Digital Edition freezing after inserting book

I inserted a 2GB file book into adobe digital editions to move it to my kobo but right after I dragged the file, It instantly froze up. I tried re-installing ade but it still did not work. Even after downloading ade 3.0, 2.0 and ade 1.0, it still kept freezing. (I have a windows 7) Is there another way to authorize my device or book? because I managed to move the file into the kobo drive without using ADE but it said it was not authorized.
