Adobe Digital Edition: it is not responding and not closing

I opened the ADE and could neither access the library nor close the window.  I tried downloading a book from the internet unto the ADE, which it did do, however i still cannot access the library to download the book on Kobo.

What should I do.  Is there a way to contact Adobe by phone?

I will loose hundreds of purchased books..........................desperate to solve issue.

Since when ADE developed this problem on your mchine ?

Thanks for your help.

I did restart the computer and ADE was back to normal.  I use Windows 7 enterprise and this is the first time I have had this problem.

I would like to add that i had previously restarted the computer and yet it did not work.  I had a message from microsoft that an update had not been succesful.............i instigated the update and it downloaded.  I tried opening ADE after that and it worked.
