Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 crashes every time

Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 crashes every time I try to open a book. I've tried five times, and the same error message is displayed every time: "Adobe Digital Editions quit unexpectedly." There is no code or reference number, I just have the option to Ignore, Report or Reopen. I have a MacBook Pro, OS X, I just recently downloaded the software, and have never used it before today. How do I get it to work?

Okay, maybe this is my problem. I thought it was just the fact that I was trying to open a B&N book. But it happens with every other book as well, I just tried it...
