Adobe Digital Editions is Slow

I just purchased a textbook that requires adobe digital editions to access it. At first, there were no problems with adobe digital editions, but after a few days of use, the program is extremely slow to use. I have restarted my Macbook, updated it, and ended the program, but no improvements have been made. Does anyone have any solutions?

You could have just reinstall ADE or probably the textbook you purchased takes quite a lot of memory.

I have reinstalled it and it is still slow, if not worse now.

The most obvious way to test this would be to try it out on a different computer. Could you do this?

Unfortunately, I cannot do this. But I know this is a common problem amongst other users of adobe digital editions, so I know it's not my laptop.

What is the format of the book? Pdf file or a epub? What is the size of the file?
