Adobe Digital Editions PDF's used with third party apps

VD,

    The Urban Land Institute offers books in PDF form, but delivers them via the Adobe Digital Editions platform for copyright protection.    I use the Voice Dream app almost daily for white papers that I download from the web.  If I purchase these ULI text books and access the PDF’s through Adobe Digital Editions can I listen to them using your third party app?
