Adobe Digital Editions quit unexpectedly.

When I borrow books from the library I get this message when I try to open the book or transfer it to my Kobo.  It doesn't happen with every book, just 85%.

I have erased authorizations and reauthorized.  That didn't work.

I have dragged the activation.dat file to the trash.  That didn't work.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled ADE and that didn't work.
