Adobe Digital Editions won't start!

I've installed Digital Editions 4.0, it says it's completed installation. But I cannot get the program to start. I click it and nothing happens. Even when I click files that are types associated with the program (.epub, .acsm) it still won't start. Help!

    have te same problem. Did you solve it? I have reinstalled it but it wont open?????

    I have the same problem on a Win 7 machine. Program won't open. It looks like it converts .ascm and "opens" .epub but you cann't view it. Nor can I check library books back in.

    Have windows 10. It worked for some weeks in windows 10 but now whatever I do the program does not start. Dont even get a userinterface from it. Have uninstalled it and installed it again several times. Dont know what to do any more.


    Hi again. I uninstalled again and installed it in another directory not the default directory that the installation proposed and wow after that it worked. I do not know why but I am happy now as I can finish reading my borrowed books.
