ASUS Tablet Black screen

I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions on my desktop and on my ASUS android tablet.  Worked fine for 8 months, until today, when I cannot access it on my tablet.  When I click the icon, the screen goes black.  Any suggestions on how I can access DE again.  It is version 4.5.
