Can't find out my Adobe ID

I am trying to connect to Adobe digital editions but it is asking me for an Adobe ID that I don't have. It does recognize my email address. I can log in via Facebook. However, I need to get in via my Adobe ID in order to be able to transfer e-books from Adobe digital editions to my kobo from my Windows laptop. Can anyone help?

I am going to reply to my own question. I set up a new email address and used that to get a new Adobe Editions account/ID. Seems silly but that is what Kobo recommended and it worked.
