Cannot upload EPUB to my book.

I recently downloaded a book from the Google Play Store hoping to put it on my nook. However, whenever I try to download it to Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 it closes corrupting the file. I've tried numerous times now to download the file, but to no avail. I'm not sure what to do.

    Also, if I drag and drop the file from my hard drive to the device, it gives me the following error when I try to open the file on the Nook: "Error Dialog, This book has been returned. Loan not on record.  I tried downloading another copy from the library and got the same error and had the same problem.
