Cant' authorize ADE, and getting error (screenshot included)

Can't use this at all.
Trying to read a purchased ebook, ACSM format, which on a Mac OS can only be opened/converted with ADE.
I can open PDFs just fine, but that's not what I depend on ADE for. I'm urgently trying to convert this book in preparation for an upcoming deadline.
Running ADE 4.5 on Catalina, but this problem has persisted prior to upgrading.
