I try to open downloaded *.acsm file ön my PC (windows 8.1) and Digital Editions 4.0 immediately reports "Error! Check Activation" and stops working. I have already authorized my profile for this pc and it doesnt allow to remove authorization. What to do?

    Deauthorization from the ADE menu didn't work. This thread finally helped what does the error message "check activation "mean?

    For this problem, you need to deauthorize and authorize ADE again.

    Launch ADE

    Help -> Erase authorization.

    ADE will be deauhorized.

    Now again AUTHORIZE ADE

    Help-> authorize computer.

    Error will be fixed !!
