digital editions simply not opeing

I am running windows 10 on a new laptop.  I transferred old sdd.  Open up ADE and no joy just sits in task bar. Tried pressing tab and space bar and restore and no joy.

Program is installed/ uninstalled/ reinstalled and still the same problem.

On the rare occasion when it did get up and running it said that I need to activate my activated books.  Also when I tried to deactivate computer it wouldn't let me - it kept saying that my password is wrong- which it isn't.
