Digital Editions won't open on Windows

I purchased an ebook about 2 weeks ago and it is accessed through Digital Editions. The program has worked fine since, until a few days ago. I tried to open the program and it loads then doesn't open. I've tried to open it numerous times with no luck. My computer did do an automatic update a few days ago so that may be a factor. However, I paid a good amount of money for this book and need to access it now for class. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program about 5 times with no luck.
