DRM issues on Kobo

I use Adobe Digital Editions to borrow ebooks from the library.

My computer is authorised and I have an Adobe ID but when I transfer ebooks to my Kobo using ADE, I end up getting a DRM protection message on my kobo. I checked my accounts on my Kobo and I can see my Adobe ID so I don't understand why I can't read my ebooks. It worked once and never since.

One thing I noticed is that in ADE, all menu items in relation to my kobo authorisations are greyed out: I cannot authorise the device, check my device authorisation information or remove the device authorisation.

Plus ADE keeps crashing but thqt might be a different issue.
