After downloading the .acsm file, I try to open it in Adobe Digital Editions but I get this error "E_LIC_LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR".

Any suggestion to fix this?

I have the same error from content from Google Play books.

I tried their tech support chats, but they refuse to help me until I contact adobe support,

even though I can download ACSM files from other vendors.

And Adobe support chat refuses to help because it is a free product.

They tell me that Adobe staff monitors the forums.

    So where's the answer, Adobe?

P.S. And it is not a free product. To the end user, yes, but the content provider has to pay. And the content provider won't help me, since it's not their product that is throwing the error.

    Uggh!

    I bought it at bertrand.pt.

Probably they have change something on their acsm file, or do not adapt to some change made by ADE. I sent an email to bertrand.pt explaining the situation.

    I will keep you updated.

Hello, i have the same problem. Could be the licensing server? I have the problem with a book bought from an online bookstore at Portugal.
