Ebook associated with different user account

I bought my wife a Sony Pocket E-Reader for Christmas, I also bought her an ebook from waterstones. I emailed her the .ascm file which she received and immediately opened on her laptop, it opened with Adobe Digital Editions and was able to see and read the ebook (I assume this was an annonymous account).

To transfer the newly purchased book to my wifes reader, I created an Adobe ID and then authorised her PC to that account. The E-Reader appears on ADE but I am unable to copy it to the e-reader. It states that the ebook is associated with a different user account.

Does any one know how I can rectify this issue and why it occured in the first place?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

You will need to work with their tech support to get a new .acsm file/download link which has not yet been associated with a particular user.

The one you have has a transaction ID which is associated with, which has already been used to create a license for a different user (E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER).  In this case the other user is the original anonymous activation that you wife orginally had on the computer.

You will need to ask the place where you purchase the files for redownloads in order to get books associated with the correct AdobeID.

Thanks for the quick reply Jim!!

I can download the .ascm file as many times as I want from the my account on the Waterstones website. I downloaded the file again this morning directly to my wifes computer, de-authorised her ereader then re-authorised it then tried to import the new file I downloaded.

The file imported ok but I can't open it. The error reads some thing like E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER

    Thanks,

    Rick

I think I have the same problem as the lady in this thread...

Should I open a support ticket to get activation/authorisation reset?

    Thanks,
