Exited Authorization Attempt Too Early

I was attempting to download a book and chose to authorize the computer as I am not concerned with mobility.  I had three book in Adobe Digital but had not been in more than a year.  The authorization was still running after three hours and other programs began to seem like they had frozen so I stopped the authorization and closed a few files.  When I rechecked Adobe Digital, one of the books that I owned was missing and the software is totally unresponsive.  How do I unlock the software and recover the book that appears to have been lost?
