How do I authorize Adobe Digital Editions with my kobo aura e-reader?

If I am understanding this correctly, just open ADE and plug in your Kobo. On the left side it will show your Kobo. Click your Kobo, and then on the little gear symbol immediately above it click that and there will be an option that says "Authorize this device".

I did that but when I click on the book on my Kobo, I get the following error message:

Oops! This document couldn't be opened.

I have same probem. I have authorized , desauthorized and authorized again and same problem.

I contacted kobo and theydont have any solution.

I have a pc ( windows 7) and I have AED version 4

I am having the same problem. It works fine for several downloads from the library and then I will be unable to, getting that same message. I have to uninstall ADE and then re-install it and will work for awhile, then get the error message again. Both the computer and e-reader are "authorized". Also tried using a different computer and got the same results. Getting very frustrated.
