How do I get borrowed books from one device to another?

I got the ADE for my ipad and was wanting to know how to get them on my laptop which is running windows.  I would like to open them on my computer so that I can return them early seeing that the ipad edition doesn't allow for them to be returned early and I am finished with some of my books and need to make room for more.
