How do I open adobe digital editions 4.0 after I download it?

I recently download Adobe Digital Editions on my computer in order to download a book.  I successfully did that.  Ever since I installed a new printer to the computer, I cannot open my ebook.  I have tried to uninstall and installed again the Adobe Digital Editions and nothing!  Please help!
