How to save highlights in digital editions

How do I make sure the highlights are still there next time I open the book on my computer?

I can't se a save-button, and I noticed that my highlighted sections disappear when I close the program down and reopen it.

I use a PC.

As far as I know, the program is just that sh*tty. You can't manually save, so you have to pray that the program is indeed doing its job and automatically saving your highlights and annotations. I wish I could tell you something different, but at least I can say that you are not alone...

When you Hightlight in ADE , it will get saved automatically. Those information is saved in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\My Digital Editions\Annotations\<FILENAME.epub.annot>

Thanks for that. How do I then open the file? My computer doesn't seem to recognise the file type, it asks me what to open it with and when I select Adobe Digital Editions nothing happens. (I'm on PC.)

Actually, it just opened but there are no highlights on it! I've lost a whole day's work. How do I make sure this doesn't happen again?
