I am having trouble moving books from adobe digital editions to my nook. I use a PC. When I try to open the book on my nook it tells me it has been returned

I have downloaded an epub book to adobe digital editions, connected my nook to the PC, it shows in the library of digital editions, and it looks like it transfer the book, but when I try to open on my nook, it tells me the book has been returned. what can I do to fix?
