I have loaded Digital Editions 3 on my computer with windows 8.1 cannot authorise

I have loaded Digital Editions 3 on my computer with windows 8.1  however I cannot authorise the computer.  I get the message "ACTIVATION SERVER ERROR   code: E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED:  Can anyone help me
