ID authorization

I am  trying to authorize ADE on my Windows PC. I am getting an error that says, "You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try again." I do not remember ever authorizing anything with my Adobe ID but even if I had, why would I need another?

    This does not help with Windows 8.  When I push ctrl+shift+d it brings up a bookmarks menu.
