Kindle device not coming up in ADE

Hi there
Adobe digital editions doesn't recognise my new Kindle device. I have tried all suggested troubleshooting solutions such as changing USB port, closing and reopening ADE, reinstalling ADE and reauthorising my account. An Adobe agent in the live chat directed me here. Thank you
